Roswell City Government

The City of Roswell operates as a Mayor/Council form government with a City Administrator.  The Mayor and six Council members are part-time employees.  

A full-time city administrator, Kay Love,  serves at the pleasure of Mayor and Council and is responsible for carrying out their policy directives and managing the day-to-day operations of the City.

The Mayor and Council are elected by the entire City and serve "at large" with post assignments rather than districts. Each year at the first regularly scheduled meeting in January, the Council elects a Mayor Pro Tem from among its members.  Roswell’s Mayor Pro Tem assumes all duties and powers of the Mayor during the Mayor's absence or disability.

Roswell's Mayor serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the City.  The Mayor is the presiding officer at Council meetings and will vote only in the case of a tie between council members.

United States Federal Government

Every person in the United States is represented by two US Senators and one US Congressman.  The Senators represent everyone in their state, and the Congressmen each represent a specific area within the state.  Our representative, Dr. Tom Price,  represents most of Roswell and parts of Marietta and Alpharetta.

Commission meetings are held on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m. in Assembly Hall, located on the Pryor Street level of the Fulton County Government Center, 141 Pryor Street, SW, Atlanta. Meetings are open to the public.

The Fulton County Taxpayers Foundation is a non-profit watch-dog organization dedicated to ensuring Fulton County tax-payer monies are spent wisely and productively.
